Flashing Lights - Police, Firefighting, Emergency Services Simulator is a game that I have been meaning to check out for a while. Despite actually being released in 2018 the game as I write this is still in early access so that is something to keep in mind. If you have always wanted to be a cop, fireman or even a paramedic this is a game you need to check out.

Save The City!

The point of the game is that you pick one of the emergency services and then you start working for them taking care of the city. I like the way that Flashing Lights - Police, Firefighting, Emergency Services Simulator makes each emergency service feel different and I had a lot of fun playing as each one.

The Cops

Playing as the police is probably the best part of the game in my opinion. When you are a cop you have a ton of different things that you need to do. You will need to drive fast and pull over people, give out parking tickets, go to calls about disturbances and suspicious behavior. Set up speed traps and in general, just make sure the city is safe. It always feels like there is something to do.

The Firemen

Working as firemen is more than just putting out fires. Do not get me wrong that is probably the main aspect of the game. However, you will also have to help with other things as well. The best part about this is helping get people out of cars with some pretty heavy-duty machinery.

The Paramedics

Working as a paramedic is more interesting than I thought it would be, but it is probably my least favorite of the three. Here you will need to get to accidents so that you can help people. When you get there, you have to examine them and figure out what is wrong, a broken arm, for example, you put them on the stretcher and take them to the hospital.

Part of A Rough Looking Team

One aspect of Flashing Lights - Police, Firefighting, Emergency Services Simulator that would be great if it worked better is playing with others. You all work together to try and keep the city safe and sound, but the net code has issues and getting into a game is way tougher than it should be. Still being part of a team of cops when it works is a lot of fun. Playing in single player can still be fun though.

The presentation of the game is really rough, seriously this looks like an early Xbox 360 game. There is just a real lack of polish all around and I have a feeling that and some of the rather strange animations and other bugs and glitches may ruin the game for some people.

Overall, I think that the premise of Flashing Lights - Police, Firefighting, Emergency Services Simulator is a really solid one. There is certainly a lot of fun to be had here, but the way the game is just a little rough around the edges, not to mention how hard it is to play with others can be annoying. Still if taking care of a city sounds interesting to you, be sure to check this game out.
